Composition
Each bolus contains Tetramisole HCl 600 mg.
Descrtiption
Tetramisole HCl 600mg bolus is a white colored oblonged scored on one side bolus & it is a safe and broad spectrum vermicidal, larvicidal anthelmitic for ruminants.
Pharmacological
Tetramisole HCl 600mg bolus is a broad spectrum and powerful anthelmintic. It can restrain activity of muscle succinic acid dehydrogenase in the worm body, make muscles continuous contraction and paralysis.It acts entirely against the parasites of the Nematodius group of the gastro-intestinal round worms, including common stomach worms and intestinal worms. Also it is highly effective against the large lung worms of the respiratory system, eye worms and hearts worms of ruminants.
Pharmacokinetics
Tetramisole HCl 600mg bolus rapidly absorbed and carried to all parts of body, peak blood level occurs within 2-3 hours and tissue level persists for up to 5 days. The drug is excreted mainly through the faeces and urine 40% is excreted in the urine within 24 hours.
Indication
Tetramisole HCl 600mg bolus is indicated for treatment of mature and developing immature stages of a wide range of nematodes and against the following species:
In the abomasum: Haemonchus spp, Ostertagia spp, and Trichorstrongylus spp;
In the intestine: Trichostrongylus spp, Cooperia spp, Nematodirurs spp, Oesophagostomum spp, Chabertia spp and Bunostomum spp;
In the lungs: Dictyocaulus spp, including inhibited D. Viviparus larvae.
Dosage and Administration
Administer by oral only(single dose each time):
(15 mg active substance/kg body wt. Do not exceed a maximum single oral dose of 45mg/kg body wt.)
Lambs, Kids: Halfbolus/20 kg body wt.
Sheep, goats, cattle, camels: One bolus/40 kg body wt.
Contraindication
At therapeutic doses, Tetramisole is safe even for the pregnant animals. The safety index is 3 times the recommended dose for goats and sheep, and 3-5 for cattle. However, some animals may become anxious and present excitation, muscle tremors, salivation and lacrymation 10-30 minutes following drug administration. If these conditions persist a veterinarian should be consulted.
Avoid treatment of debilitated of sick animal.
Organophosphates are toxic if given within(14)days of treatment.
Side effect
The side effect are dizziness, anorexia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, nausea and fever.
Occasionally, salivation, alight diarrhea and coughing may occur in some animals.
Withdrawal Period
Meat: 7 days.
Milk: 2 days.
Presentation
10 bolus/blister, 7 blisters/box.
Storage
Store in a cool and dry place below 30℃, protect from light.
Validity
4 years.
