Description
Toltrazuril is an anticoccidial with activity against Eimeria spp. in poultry: Eimeria acervulina, brunetti, maxima, mitis, necatrix and tenella in chickens. Eimeria adenoides, galloparonis and meleagrimitis in turkeys.
Indications
Coccidiosis of all stages like schizogony and gametogony stages of Eimeria spp. in chickens and turkeys.
Dosage and administration
For oral administration:
500 ml per 500 litre of drinking water (25 ppm) for continuous medication over 48 hours, or 1500 ml per 500 litre of drinking water (75 ppm) given for 8 hours per day, on 2 consecutive days.
This corresponds to a dose rate of 7 mg of Toltrazuril per kg of body weight per day for 2 consecutive days.
Contra-indications
Administration to animals with impaired hepatic and/or renal function.
Side effects
At high dosages in laying hens egg-drop and in broilers growth inhibition and polyneuritis can occur.
Withdrawal period
For meat:
Chickens: 19 days.
Turkeys: 21 days.
Egg: Do not administer to poultry producing eggs for human consumption.
Precautions
Continuous administration is easy to cause resistance to coccidia, even cross resistance (Diclazuril). Therefore, continuous administration can not exceed 6 months.
The stable period for mix-drinking is only 48 hours, so it must be mixed for timely use.
Presentation
In 100 ml, 150 ml, 500 ml & 1000 ml plastic bottle.
Storage
Store in a cool and dry place below 30。C, protect from light.
Validity
3 years.
